Pat Plant, Executive Director, Doers of the Word

PAT PLANT, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
DOERS OF THE WORD

Pat Plant’s call from God is to motivate and teach Christian individuals, organizations, and congregations — through speaking, leading workshops, and writing — how to win the war against poverty by making change and by supporting those already in the fight to feed the hungry and unhoused, to follow James 1:22 and be true “Doers of the Word.”

With 25 years’ experience in community and business leadership, public relations, education, and church activity, Pat has organized trainings, community events, fundraisers, concerts, and food drives.

Most recently Pat has worked as Director of Lay Ministry for Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church, and as Hunger Action Advocate for the Presbytery of San Jose in California.

Pat is an experienced workshop leader and is an active member of Toastmasters International.

Our Mission
To motivate, activate, and energize Christians to perform the work Jesus called us to do: love our neighbors and help those in need.

Our GoalTo eliminate poverty (and the problems that breed hunger, homelessness, and disadvantage) in the United States by motivating and teaching Christians how to make change to end poverty.

Our Plan
To use speaking, leading put-it-into-action workshops, and educational writing to teach and mobilize people of faith to create change through volunteer and financial support of agencies serving the poor; responsible community action to level the political playing field for all people; and being the hands and feet of Jesus to stand up for what is right and just in America

GREG PLANT, ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
DOERS OF THE WORD

Greg spent nearly 30 years as a writer, first in journalism, then as a technical writer, before retiring in 2003 to help start DOERS OF THE WORD.

Never doubt that a small group of concerned citizens can change the world, indeed it's the only thing that has.
